![]() ![]() Each character drives his own unique little vehicle, from Chef’s wood-paneled station wagon to Officer Barbrady’s cop car, often complete with a personalized license plate. You’ll instantly recognize all the various characters in South Park Rally if you’ve seen them in the show before their simple forms and clean, flat colors come across perfect, and their faces animate just as expressively as they do on TV. Beware: If you didn’t know any better, you might think the quality of the graphics, and how well they capture the cardboard-cutout look of the television show, are suggestive of the overall quality of the game. South Park Rally looks and sounds deceptively good. In the Dreamcast version, the final scene is different than other versions. I suppose the humane thing to do would be to start with the horribly-designed multi-level tracks and terribly frustrating control issues - which only begin to describe the problems here, and there are many. ![]() Where to begin is almost as big a chore as completing the game itself. South Park Rally is undoubtedly one of the worst racing games I have ever played. Maybe we’ll get a good game out of this series after all? Maybe not. I was hopeful, though, when I learned that the previously-mentioned racer was being tweaked and improved upon for the SEGA Dreamcast. ![]()
